Beyond the gate: the Skeleton Tomb takes shape
Four kinds of restless dead, soul braziers and a Warden on his throne. A first look at AZRAQ's first dungeon.
In-engine capture · Skeleton Tomb
Past the ruins, the old arch on the island's height is more than a landmark. Step through it and you arrive in the Skeleton Tomb — the first dungeon of AZRAQ, and the first place on the island where the stone itself seems to be watching.
The tomb is built as a compact descent: a vestibule of guardian statues, a warrior's chamber, an ossuary of misty pits, a hall where archers hold the gallery, a rune chamber where a mage hides behind his ward — and, at the end, the Skeleton Warden, bound to two soul braziers you will have to deal with first.
Our first in-headset runs showed us exactly what to sharpen before you set foot inside, from the way the stone reads at arm's length to the pacing of each encounter. We would rather keep a little mystery than show you everything at once.
